Usually my dreams are very normal. I don't know why but I'm mostly on the couch watching t.v. or walking around with some people doing nothing important or weird. BUT THE OTHER NIGHT! woah.

It might reflect my life which has been anything but normal lately...or I might just have a really impressive imagination. OK.

So I'm a pirate. I'm being chased by this big and scary man (who looks a lot like my last play director) and he captures me. Now, this is no damsel in distress moment. I'm a fighter. I'm a pirate! But he does capture me. He turns me around and he slowly stabs me twice in the back on either side of my spine. Right after that he proceeds to carve a giant "H" that takes up my entire back.

::footnote:: This dream happened after running into a boy that has been causing problems in my life recently. His name starts with an "H". Coincidence? So far our entire relationship has been coincidence..or "fate" as he calls it. ::puke:: We'll call him "Hasshole", for argument's sake.

Ok so giant "H" on back and the stabs wounds. I'm bleeding like crazy and I then realize that this is all happening under water. So I immediately think that I need oxygen and to swim to the top, but also SHARKS! I am bleeding..

Once I get to the top I see Hasshole and he sees I'm bleeding. He tells me "I know of an underground hospital nearby and they're really good." Some secret door opens (which totally makes sense, as it always does in dreams) and we walk into a strip club. It's loud and dark and I now only have the "H" on my back which is still bleeding, The stabs wounds healed I guess? There is this stripper surgeon and she says she can help me. I, obviously, am skeptic and that offends her. She gets a phone call and it's a casting director telling her that I need to go back or I'll lose my job. "But I'm bleeding!" I say. She points out that I'm not and they are just giant scars now. So I go back and walk onto the set of a Jennifer Lopez music video. I'm one of her dancers and need to get back to work. I'm in a lot of pain but it was still fun. We take a break and Jennifer says "Ok guys, there's a McDonald's and a subway right over there. On me!"

And then I wake up.

So let's recap. I'm an underwater pirate who can withstand a lot of pain, including Hasshole, who takes me to an underground strip club hospital. I heal rather quickly and dance with a very generous Jennifer Lopez.

I had such a fun week! It was crazy busy in all the good ways, filled with working, studying scripts, acting, dancing, and seeing old friends. Life is good right now :)

The breakdown:

~ I've been auditioning like a MAD woman!

~ I'm playing 23 games in Words with Friends. It's literally taking over my life. This picture is from the game with my mom. 114 points!!!! In all fairness, I did NOT see that coming...

~ One of my besties, Sana, got hitched a couple years ago, moved to China with her hubby to make the world a better place, and is now visiting!! Our claim to fame is beach buddies so our first stop was Zuma beach in Malibu.

Note: I live in SoCal and this was my 2nd time to the beach this summer. *tragic*

~ After the beach we headed to El Portal Theater for what we thought was a "spoken word" show thingy that our friend Rob was in. We walk in and almost immediately I see Dee Caspary, who is an AMAZING contemporary choreographer who you might know from a little show called So You Think You Can Dance!!! I was like....wait a minute....what is this? Turns out that this "spoken word" thingy that our friend Rob is in, is actually an incredible dance show put on by choreographers to showcase dance. The show is called The Nvitational and it's a 2 week run of many dances by different choreographers, half you would recognize from SYTYCD. The most awesomest surprise ever.

~ Afterwards, we headed to the Alcove which is a really cute/swanky restaurant in Silverlake. Lots of bricks and twinkle lights, very romantic on a summer night. They had a glorious display of desserts and truffle oil which I die over.

~At the show I also recognized some SYTYCD alumni. One in particular was Katee, a season 4 finalist. I met her and she was really sweet. I happened to mention her to Rob at dinner and, without me knowing, goes up to her and says "wanna embarrass my friend?" he gets her to write this silly little note to me which actually did embarrass me. Don't mind the chocolate smudge on the note. I told you....glorious desserts.

~ Saturday night I filmed a Netflix spec commercial. It's all gonna be in slow motion which I can't wait to see. I love me some slow motion.

~ Sunday was a GREAT day! A few of us girls went wig shopping in Hollywood for Brandi's bachelorette party which is this weekend in VEGAS! I can't wait! We walked up and down the blvd. walking into crazy/weird/scary shops, some of which I can't believe even exist. After a fun day of being yelled at by a crazy guy, us yelling at the snobs in Iguana, frantically racing to put money in the meter....forgetting it's Sunday, eating lunch in a fun little alley way that made us feel like we were out of town, we FINALLY found our wigs. SUCCESS!!!

~ I closed the week out by going back to The Nvitaional, taking Brandi and my mom this time. We then met up with my brother across the street at The Federal for a really nice dinner.

~We went to this cute little place called "Churros Calientes" in Santa Monica. They have all different kinds of churros and some paninis and stuff. We walked in and found ourselves on a little movie set. UCLA students were filming in there and the only way to eat lunch was if we agreed to be extras in the film haha. Only in L.A...

~I got a dance gig in a music video for Frankmusik & Colette Carr. It's been a while since I've done any dancing....I kinda forgot how much I love it. I met some really amazing people and I can't wait to get back in the scene again. The theme was kinda like a "Grease" theme, there were the goody goodies in school and then the bad girls. I was one of the good girls...obviously lol

~SLURPEES!!!! When was the last time you had one of those! Cherry, Blue Rasberry, and Coke with an edible sour straw...YES PLEASE!!
~We had a surprise 50th bday party for my mom's bf Joe. It was football themed and we broke out our awesome Jersey's. Brandi will be a Scarpelli in almost exactly one month!!

So this year has been pretty bananas. Lots of craziness, good and bad. The past few months I have been trying to really focus on myself. You know, my wants and needs. So far, it's been reeeeally difficult but at the same time super rewarding. I'm not getting any younger and if I want my future to be how I actually see it in my mind, then I'm the only one standing in my way. That and boys...fucking boys! ugh...anyway. The short version of what I've been up to the past year I haven't been blogging:

~I started really diving into my acting career...as much as I could. Getting more into theater, taking classes, going to workshops, auditioning EVERY chance I could, I produced a webisode which is getting me into SAG. Basically just trying to learn as much as I can.

~still volunteering for AFSP which my mom is the new Director of the L.A. chapter

~I'm a bridesmaid in my brother Brandon's wedding! B & B are getting married in September and this whole year we've basically been partying nonstop. Engagement parties, DIY parties, showers, soon Vegas and then the wedding!!

~My sister Gina had a baby girl named Nika Bella, my brother Mark had a baby girl named Giada Eva. I became an auntie of 2 this year!

~I started going to therapy. Thank GOD! dude...everyone needs this shit

~My mom's boyfriend created a show called "Necessary Roughness" and it finally aired on USA a couple weeks ago. It's based on his sister Donna's life as the NY Jets' therapist for 10 years. It's amazing, check it out!

So all of that mixed in with my so-called social life, family gatherings, and a bunch of other stuff I can't remember, it's been a hell of a year so far.

One of the things I can't wait to start doing again is blogging. It really is for me and I miss it and all the blogs I follow. So I'm officially on a mission to catch up and I'm stoked.

Friday Night was Fashion's Night Out and it was the first year it was held in L.A. We had such an amazing time running around The Beverly Center and Melrose and finished off the night at XIV...

Saturday was my actual birthday (9/11) and a bunch of us went to La Vida in Hollywood for dinner. Afterwards we danced it up at Highlands in the Kodak Center. SO much fun!

Sunday night we still weren't done partying. We had a get together at my grandma's house and then a few of us hardcore ladies went to Howl at the Moon where they do a little something for you if it's your birthday, or should I say they make YOU do a little something hahaha

So I just got back from a 2 week trip home to Maui! It was by far the most intensely amazing vacation EVER! We had family and friends coming and going throughout the entire time and every single day was an adventure. Since way too much happened I'll share my trip via pictures..

And there was SO much more including underwater caves, hiking through lava tubes in the dark, surfing, swimming with sharks and sea turtles, jogging through pineapple fields, and eating LOTS of fresh coconut and lilikoi from the property. It was exhausting, and exhilarating, relaxing, and intense. It gives me chills just thinking about how much real fun we had. One for the books I tell ya! :)

I got some horrifying news while I was in Hawaii that my little baby kitty was killed by a coyote. Long story about why he was outside, but I was absolutely devastated and still am. I have an all black cat "baghira", we used to have a grey cat "Baloo" and my brother and Brandi have Mowgli. Louie was orange so we went with King Louie.

Thursday night some of the fam went to see one of our favorite movies OF ALL TIME turned into a musical, Young Frankenstein! It was, by far, the best show I've ever seen on stage. We ate dinner at Eva Longoria's restaurant "Beso" and then headed over to Pantages to see the show. So much fun! I LOVE my family!

Friday night was a historical night! I went and saw one of my really good friend's performance at the El Rey.

Andy Grammer...incredible. I've known this guy for quite some time now, starting at open mics, and to see him grow to where he is now, knowing I'll be hearing his single on the radio soon really makes me melt. I feel like a proud mama and I couldn't be happier for my friend.

Saturday morning I flew up to San Jose to hang out with my sibs and in hopes my sister would give birth while I was up there. AAAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDDDD she did!!!!! I'M AN AUNTIE!!!!!!!! I can't believe it...it was so incredible. Only 20% of the time do babies actually make it out on their due date and this little girl was punctual! Meet Nika Bella Loukas...

Isn't she the CUTEST?!?!!!!!! I know...

Well, today is a very busy day gearing up for Maui, I leave tomorrow! EEEEE!

So I went dancing last night.

IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!!!!

I mean, aside from drunk creepers who think it's just fine to wrap their arm around me to ask my name, or grab my ass like I said to and then when I turn/gasp/slap them in their gut they always, ALWAYS act surprised. Then ask "oh, do u have a bf?" Like that's the only reason you can't touch me.

But other than that, SO great!

Sometimes I forget that I'm a dancer. Dancing is my first love and I don't do it anymore. Sometimes I catch a beat and start daydreaming choreography, or analyze other dancers just to see their bodies in movement, wishing it was mine.

It all started out with Michael Jackson. I know everything dance started out with Michael Jackson, but I was over my aunt and uncle's house and my little cousin, who now embodies the late, great MJ, puts on "this is it". After watching that brilliant man float across the stage whilst "marking" genius freestyle that I couldn't pull off with years of practice on the same 8 count, I just had to dance. So I was on a mission..

Somehow the stars alined, and the God's smiled because Arista texted me saying to be ready by 10, we're going out baby!

So leggings, a flowy-ish T-shirt, and a pair of comfy boots later we show up at this little restaurant place that turns into a swanky dance club on the weekends. I step out of the car, the clouds part and then I hear it..

"so you wanna be startin something, you got to be startin something".

The start of my night. I didn't let the elbows to my ribs, or the vodka/crans on my shoes get in the way of my mission. I wanted to dance, cuz DAMMIT! I'm a DANCER!!!!

It's been an awesome month and I'm doing big things. but FIRST! we must catch up :)

ok CHRISTMAS!!

B and B had an awesome christmas party. Red and white themed, and lots of fist pumping...and, well peeing on coffee tables. don't ask.

Ness also had a xmas party...

Then it was time for actual xmas, and anytime my family gets the chance to dress up we do. So last November a few of us went to go see "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" musical at Pantages. While we were there I saw this little girl dressed up as a Who and I was like "ummmm, I want a teacup in my hair..." So we told the whole family and come christmas day we all came dressed up in our jammies and crazy Who hair. Basically, my family is awesome.

A few of us went to Little Rock for some Pre New year's partying. It's the kind of place that's fun if you make it fun...so we did!

New Year's was supposed to be AMAZING!

Ok so far this year has been pretty busy. I'm working a lot which is good, but leaves little time to blog read. I just worked on the movie Dinner for Schmucks with Paul rudd and Steve Carell. It was SO much fun! I only worked with Paul Rudd and he's awesome, but getting to see comedian's improv is so amazing and incredibly fun. Anyway, off to stalk all of your blogs. So if you see me running around the blog world going crazy, don't fret I'm just overly excited.

What happened to chivalry?

Maybe it's just the way I grew up, my dad was very old school Italian and made sure both of my older brothers knew what's up. I remember when we were young and my dad would get on my brother Brandon for not opening the door for his mother and sister. I got used to chairs being pulled out for me, doors opened for me, my oldest brother Mark won't even let me walk on the same side of the street that the cars are coming.

Don't get me wrong, I don't NEED the door opened for me. Clearly I can do it for myself, however it's just one of those things that implies respect. It shows me that you are a gentleman and probably brought up right. It FOR SURE adds points fellas.

But I guess if we want to be treated like a lady, we should probably act like one too. That includes 'thank you', 'bless you', your welcome, etc. I think a lady also includes showing a bit of chivalry yourself. I'm definitely the most polite person I know, other than my mom. This isn't ego, I make a point to be that way. I too was brought up by the same guy as my bros. I say 'thank you' and 'I'm sorry' and 'your welcome' more than any person I know. It's probably annoying at times, but I would rather be overly polite than be disrespectful in any light. I open the door for people all the time, especially people who are older than me. Plain and simple, if I get to the door before you I will open it. Now, if we're on a date and I get the door and you just walk in without a thank you...we have problems. If I get to the door before you and open it and you don't take it...we got issues. I don't know maybe that's just me. But I can't help it. I totally think it was how I was raised, and it completely changes how the night goes on from there. These are very simple gestures that aren't very hard to do, but have a great impact.

So I was hanging with a friend and came across some really awesome quotes from "Paris Talks". It was really beautiful and eye opening, especially number 4..

I mean, it makes sense. "This kind of love is originated by the accidental conditions of life." My friend used the example of two people that work together and see each other everyday, falling in 'love'. After they leave or whatever happens, that bubble kind of bursts and you're able to see things more clearly and realize what that was. The end result, usually, is that it wasn't love; "merely fascination".

ok. so today is tamale day YAY! Every year right before xmas, the fam (mostly the ladies) get together and make hundreds of tamales (I have a HUGE family) & eat them xmas eve. It's an all day event and is spent listening to Johnny Mathis and Mariah Carey, talking about everything and laughing like it's going out of style. It's actually something that was maybe not gonna happen this year till I called my mother and threw a huge fit about "FAMILY TRADITION" and we made it happen.

So for the first time I'm gonna use this "blog" thing, for kinda what it's intended purpose is...a diary. I've got a lot running through my brain right now and it's gotta go somewhere. Arista once told me that she did some sort of writing exercise. She basically wrote down eeeeeeeeverythiiiiiiinng that was going on in her life at that moment. Afterwards, she read it back and felt a lot better. Sometimes you need to get things off your chest, even if it's just to yourself. Or the blog world.. :)

What the FUCK am I doing?!?!...

I'm 23!

I am 23 years old! and have no fucking clue what to do..

When I think about my life and what I want to do and what I need to do to get there, all of a sudden my world goes black. I start to get really hot, and I can literally feel the adrenaline rushing through my veins.

Ok, so I want to act. I know, I know...typical L.A. dreamer trying to make it big in the big bad industry. Here's the thing: I know I can. For one, I've been doing it my whole life. And two, I come from a family of performers and a couple of them have actually been successful actors for many many years. "Successful"as in have made a living by being an actor..not necessarily famous. But please, PLEASE don't get me wrong. My mission in life is not to be famous, but to simply make a living in this world by doing what I love. One of my biggest fears in life is to wake up one day and I'm forty and absolutely hate my life, and the core of that is my job. I mean, when you think about it, if you work a 8-5 work day, 5 days a week...that's a lot of F-ing time to be at one place for yeeeeeears!!! No shit you're depressed...you've been pushing paper for the last 20 years, and you resent your boss, family, and friends for letting you!

Same thing goes for acting though. People will try and try and try and for years not do anything. They wake up one day and realize that they have wasted 20 years of their life chasing a dream that they were never able to catch up to. Now what??

The thing about acting is that talent has nothing to do with actually booking a gig. You can be the absolute right person for the job. You worked the hardest, you studied the longest, you did the best in the audition, but they just so happened to want someone with slightly bigger teeth, or dirty blonde hair instead of strawberry blonde. 97% of anyone you see actually making it as an actor, more than likely got the job because they were in the right place at the right time. That's right folks, to make it big in this industry you gotta be LUCKY!!!! scared yet? yeah...me too.

So now I have 3 part time jobs, all that pay shit just so I can have time to make it to auditions to maybe, just maybe, kinda hoping/wishing, that this time..maybe THIS time I might actually get the part. More than likely not, simply because that chick over there just got her boobs done.

So what do I choose...

option 1: I get a full time, good paying 8-5 job doing what I hate but am I able to move out and pay rent and maybe go see a movie every once in a while...or

option 2: I stick to the shit paying jobs, the embarrassment of still living at home at 23, and the fear of the unknown of what may actually come out of this audition, BUT all while trying to make my dreams come true. Something that not a whole lot of people get to say they did.

Ok so that's one of the things going through this analytical brain of mine..

Why must you be so damn simple and us so damn complicated. The problem is, you're so simple that it complicates things. Even though I am a girl, I think I'm a pretty simple. I want to find someone to love and be loved in return. doesn't sound so hard right?

WHAT?!?!?! HOLY SHIT!!!! This scares me to death waaaaaaay more then the whole job thing. When you are fortunate enough to find someone that literally stops you in your tracks, or leaves someone who is normally very talkative, speechless, or takes your breath away, OR brings all those stupid cliches to life. AND!!!!!! ANNNNDDDDD and actually have them return the exact feelings for YOU!!!..............

WOOOOOOW, you are one lucky son of a bitch. This seems practically impossible. I mean, when you think about all the people in the world, all the millions of places your "soulmate" can be, how the hell are you supposed to find them? I mean, we only have one soul right? so i take that to mean we only have one mate for it. What if my soul mate is in Finland and I NEVER go to Finland?? Does that mean that I spend the rest of my days alone with my cats and when I'm old and gray, little kids will dare each other to ring my door bell and run away laughing?!

OR will I find someone that I THINK is my soulmate and I'm really just settling for 2nd best because I don't know any better. I didn't know that I was supposed to go to Finland! How was I supposed to know to go to Finland?!

Now, I've never been the type to swing from boyfriend to boyfriend. Some girls just aren't happy single, that doesn't mean they are sluts or that they are needy, maybe they just love sharing their life with someone else.

Not that I'm necessarily "happy" being single, but I can't fake it. I can't be with someone if it's not all there. Even if they are funny, or good-looking, or rich! Even if they are all 3, if it's not there, it's not there. My mom calls it the "smell". Every time she sees me with a guy or I go on a date, and the date went great but it's just not there for me. She'll ask me "he wasn't the right smell, huh?" and he wasn't. This has nothing to do with B.O. or cheap cologne. It has everything to do with someone's own personal scent. Scent is the strongest sense of them all. It triggers memory and it can even affect your mood. Have you ever gone home with a piece of (his) clothing and slept with it for days, or at least until the smell wore off? Yeah, that's because you like him and the way he smells. It helps you remember what just happened, whatever that may be. Don't forget, we are animals.

See, I have found that smell. I walked into it's house about 3 years ago, and I've never felt anything like that before or since. Here's the thing, the very strange thing that no one can quite grasp...

unrequited love.

No one said it better than Charlie brown, "nothing takes the taste out of peanut butter quite like unrequited love."

2 fairly small words that have such a ridiculously huge meaning. Let me elaborate:

Google's definition: Unrequited love is love that is not openly reciprocated, even though reciprocation is usually deeply desired. The beloved may or may not be aware of the admirer's deep affections.

Encyclopedia.com's definition: un·re·quit·ed / ˌənriˈkwītid/

adj. (of a feeling, esp. love) not returned or rewarded.

Angelique's definition: Your own personal hell.

Some of you know who I'm talking about. Some of you I have told the story to, and some of you I haven't for good reason. But whatever, this is my diary.

Here's the short version of what has been going on in my love life or lack thereof.

There was a boy. We'll call him "boy"(clever I know). I knew who he was but also knew he had a gf at the time. I thought he was cute, but let it go. Then one day, years later, I get a call from a mutual friend to come by "boy"'s house, they were all hanging out.

That whole week in one sense is a big blur, mostly because it happened so fast. But, in another sense I remember every detail.

I thought one thing, he felt another. I was left hurt and confused while he went on living. I pretended nothing had happened, while on the inside I was disintegrating. The thing that happened that I wasn't even aware of, was that in that short amount of time I had fallen for this boy. See, in my short life of dealing with matters of the heart I have always been guarded. I've been hurt by men and not just potential boyfriends. Men in general have just let me down before, hence the walls. I didn't know it, but this boy had busted through these said "walls" with a charging force, or maybe I just let them down with such ease that it seemed that way.

So now, here I am. 20 and broken hearted for the first time. Since I pretended nothing had happened, we remained "friends". I watched as he dated other girls and acted like I was happy for him.

So then I moved to Hawaii. I got myself a bf and thought of "boy" the whole time. After 6 months, I left bf and moved back home. I thought I was over boy until I saw him. Everything came flooding back and I was miserable once again like I was the year before. Until finally I couldn't do it anymore. One day I had had enough. I told him I couldn't do the "friend" thing anymore, and that was that. We didn't talk for 8 months. In that time, I couldn't tell which was worse, having him in my life as a friend but not able to actually have him. Or not having him at all. No matter what, I lose.

Eventually we started talking again. Well, if that's what you call it. We are more of acquaintances now and it's something I have to deal with. This is a story that has no end. I am living in this personal hell as of today and I have no F-ing clue what to do about it. I feel like I've done everything I can think of to get over this boy. I have ignored the situation, ignored him, ignored my feelings. I have confronted him and my feelings, he has even apologized for doing this to me. I have tried not talking to him. I've prayed for years.

Let me tell you one thing. Unrequited love is simply one of the most excruciating pains I have ever felt. I can honestly and unfortunately say that I have dealt with a lot so far in my life, as far as 'hurt' goes. And this one is definitely up there. Maybe because it's one of those slow burns. It hurts so bad that you almost wish for a physical wound, those are a lot easier to see and heal. The pain is so severe that I find myself literally trying to grasp my heart through my chest to help stop the ache. It's something I would never wish upon my worst enemies.

It's also something that's hard to explain. I mean, we were never in a relationship. Technically, I fell in love with him from afar. How can you explain that to people who are so used to relating "Love" with dating or courting? Having sex or AT LEAST kissing! We did none of that, yet I wanted to tell him my deepest, darkest secrets, just so he would know the real me. I wanted to know everything there is to know about him. I wanted people to bring him up in conversation just so I can hear his name being thrown around and be allowed to think of him without consequence. I would only wish this for someone just so I wouldn't be alone and someone could understand the feeling...

so my mom asks, "is it the smell?"

yes! it is! I love the way he smells. He smells exactly how a good day should smell. Like a boy who doesn't try to smell good should smell. He's the funniest person I know. I can talk to him for hours, or sit next to him for hours not saying a word.

A day with him is just...easy.

He's also an idiot. Clearly we have chemistry. Clearly at one point he was attracted to me. PLUS, I am about as kick ass of a girlfriend as you can get.

I'm not sure what changed on his end, but one thing is for sure and that's nothing has changed on my end. Unfortunately..

So what does this mean? Is this why I'm so scared of love? Because I feel I might have potentially found it, but there was one teensy weensy problem, and that's just that it wasn't reciprocated?

So now what? I have feelings for a boy who doesn't feel the same. I've tried to be rid of these feelings...hasn't worked so far. I try to be open-minded and date other guys, well we all know I'm still single. And it's not like I'm comparing these guys to boy. I've been very careful about that. Even though these feelings are forever present, I don't want to miss an opportunity because I've gotten so used to being blind. However, I do compare my feelings. I know what it feels like to fly. What it feels like to...just...know. To feel safe (ironic, cuz he's the one that hurt me the most), but every time I'm with him, everything negative that has happened in the past dissipates. It's completely irrelevant to THAT moment.

I mean, who's to say that if we were to ever actually try it out, we would make it. The point is that we didn't, and we won't. And now I'm just stuck in the unknown. Limbo.

So, here I am. 23 and more confused than ever.

A big week

A week ago, Saturday the 24th was the AFSP "Out of the Darkness" walk. It was so amazing to see all of those faces, some new, some old walking for what they believe in and what they hope for. We raised over $100,000 and everyone worked so hard to get there. It was an emotional yet uplifting day that I look forward to every year.

After the walk, my mom and I met up with my cousin at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for the "Dia de los Muertos" celebration. Now, usually the Day of the Dead is on Nov.1st but for some reason they had to have it a week before. Let me tell you...it was so flippin amazing to see all those thousands of people get so into it with their costumes, make up, characters, and not to mention the alters. I was so inspired that I felt out of place in regular 'walk' clothes and no make up that we HAD to do something about that. My mom ended up buying me this AMAZING authentic hand sewn shirt from Mexico and we both got our faces painted. The concert was amazing, with the most unreal stage I have EVER seen. It was such a funtastic day!!

The rest of the week was spent working as an extra, which is fun but pays shit. On Tuesday a couple of us went to Arclight to see "This is it". And it was so amazing and emotional and and and and I miss Michael Jackson. What a beautiful human being.

Thursday was a good friend's bday. We went to a local, valley bar called Off Kilt and partied it up.

Ok on to HALLOWEEN!!! It started out a little rough. A bunch of us ladies got together and wanted to dress up as all the Disney boy characters. You know, cuz we're all pretty sick of girls (in the words of David) try to "out slut" each other. I mean..it was cool like 5 years ago, but you can only see a slutty nurse or cop so much before it's like "ok ladies...time to get creative". Anyway, things happened, plans changed but I was SOL cuz I already had most of my costume done. It was down to 2 of us. I went as Aladdin and my cousin Vanessa went at The Beast. It was kind of a lame night, we ended up going to Universal Citywalk to a dueling piano bar called Howl at the Moon. It's actually a fun place, there's just better things to do on Halloween. BUUUUUUUUUUT the cool thing was I entered the costume contest and won FIRST PLACE!!! WOOOOO! I got 100 bucks and a bunch of VIP passes to come back. So that made it worth it :)

The Sartorialist

So Thursday night was an extraordinary night. A few of us went to The Beverly Center to Scott Schuman aka The Sartorialist's book signing. We stood in line while wine and hors d'oeuvres were being passed on trays, such as coconut covered marshmellow with chocolate inside, mini chocolate cupcakes, and cotten candy which I saw once and it never returned.

I had such a great time, most of it was spent standing in line, but once we got to meet Scott I found out what a delightful man he is. He is so kind and looks you in the eye, which is refreshing. He shook my hand and wanted to know what I did for a living. As he was about to write my name in the book, he stopped...turned, and TOTALLY checked out my outfit!!!! He threw me a couple compliments and I blushed for the next half hour. So great..

So I finally made it out of bed and decided that I needed to make it out of my sweats and oversized t-shirt. Well, the sweats went but I'm still coughing up whatever is left of my lungs so I wanted to be comfy. I stuck with an oversized Sex Pistols T, leggings and these fab Chinese Laundry Sudoku flats. Topped it off with a messy bun out of laziness and some hot purple lipstick to make it girly-ish.

For my birthday, one of my best friends, we'll call him....Emerson! gave me tickets to go see Jason Mraz at the Hollywood Bowl. Reading the card I almost fainted with glee but then realized he wasn't gonna be able to come with me. It was a sad day, and we tried to make it happen, but sadly it didn't work out. :(

I ended up taking my other bestie Arista and we had such an awesome time.

Jason rocks my socks! and it was pretty cool to see that a simple acoustic guitarist can sell out the hollywood bowl and rock the house. He was simply amazing and that boy's got some pipes on him. so THANKS Emerson!!! :) :) :) :)

Ok so this is my Godson/the reason I'm alive/the love of my life/the most amazing little human ever!

As posted down below, he's 7 and lives on Maui. The little one is pink is his sister Kuleana and she is the cutest little tomboy/girly girl there is. This is what them country kids do when the rain comes in....PUDDLE BOARDING!!!

Now the video is 9:00 minutes long and even though I can watch it over and over nonstop, I don't expect you to. But just FF to 3:26 to see the kid in action. And if you're still interested, FF to 5:17 to see his beautiful face.

The comedy definitely comes at 6:20 and 8:24 when my aunt and uncle (Kawika's grandma and grandpa) get in on the action..

Ok 10 things the blog world may not know about moi

1) I'm a Baha'i!! Yep, and it's awesome. I declared about 3 years ago, but I've known about the faith my whole life through my cousin. And if you don't know what the Baha'i Faith is, my apologies. Let me introduce you. Baha'i Faith, readers. Readers, Baha'i Faith. Basically, to quote the website provided..

2) I have Philippino neighbors that I've known since I was about 9 and I love them like crazy. And every Saturday and Sunday morning they blast the local Oldies radio station starting at around 7 or 8am. Normally, you know, being 23 and all I should be pissed, but waking up to the sounds of the past with no plans in mind always starts off my day with a smile.

3) A few years ago for my little cousin's birthday, all the grown up girl cousins dressed up like the Disney princesses. Since we're Mexican and I have huge family, this was possible. I was nominated to be Ariel (since I look so much like her and all). So this was fun and great, but since then, since a few years ago, my family has been giving me Ariel EVERYTHING. I have accumulated posters, pictures, ALL the school supplies a Disney freak could ask for, dolls, Barbies, purses, etc. It's insane and I'm still not sure why they keep it up..

4) I cliff jump.

So here's a couple pics. They are both on Maui. The first one is actually the highest I have ever jumped off of, it was about 65-70 ft and it was SO much fun!!! The second is at 7 pools in Hana and it's about 60 feet. In the middle of the picture that's me in the air (not standing on the rock) and above that, where the people are, is where I jumped from. But I basically jump off of anything I can find if it's into water. Here's a link to a video of me jumping off some guy's roof into his pool. Oh and the guy in the backround saying "GO! Just do it!" 5) I have a Godson and he's the most gorgeous/special/smart/funny/amazing thing in my life. His name is Kawika, he's 7, and he lives in Hawaii..

6) I have a new kitty and his name is King Louie. Let me splain. It started off with Baghira who is my all black cat..you know, the jungle book. Then we got a gray cat and named him Baloo. Sadly Baloo is no longer with us :( Then my brother got a cat and named him Moglie, and he actually turned out to be a she. So this new kitty is a redhead, hence King Louie. (But I call him Fire Crotch!)

7) I have 2 Tattoos.

This one is behind my neck and it's a 9 pointed star, a symbol for the Baha'i Faith. The other I don't have a pic for but it's the letter N and it's behind my ear. It stands for Nick, my dad <3

8) I went to the Jason Mraz concert last night, thanks to Emerson, and it was INCREDIBLE!! I flippin love him. Pics to come

9) I've broken both my arms, a leg, and cracked my head open (all at different times)

The other day, my cousin and I went to see the movie "Coco before Chanel" thanks to Ashley from Ghetto Blaster for letting me known of its existence. It's the story of Gabrielle aka Coco Chanel's life and how she started designing. When women wore corsets, she wore pant suits. When other women adorned their hair with too many accessories, she wore straw hats. Finally her brilliance was recognized and it was the start of a new fashion era that she will forever be remembered by. It was incredible and I was happily surprised that it was in French....le sigh

Oh and I wore my new wedge ankle booties...yum

After seeing the movie, I became really inspired to do some DIY stuff. I'm on a shoe CRAZE right now...well, scratch that, I'm on a shopping craze but shoes just melt me. So I grabbed some old, suede Steve Madden's that I never wear anymore cuz I've stepped in one too many puddles and tried something out...

Ok so a new H & M was opening yesterday about 40 minutes from my house. The first 200 people get gift cards...well, that's pretty much my viagra right there. So getting up at 4:30 was noooooo problem to someone like me with this kind of disease (don't judge me).

So my cuz Vanessa and I drove to Torrance to stand in line for 6 hours to receive our gift cards and it was totally worth it. I was exhau...wait exhausted doesn't even cover how tired I was. I was nauseous I was so tired. I was begging for someone to stab my eyes out with a dull pencil, they were burning so bad. But I got really cute clothes....ugh, I need help.

at 6:00am...only 6 more hours to go...

So I quit my job the other day because I was miserable. I was working for Israeli's who didn't speak English and decided to not pay me right....what?...yeah, I was out.

So that night the ladies decided to go out and celebrate my unemployment, or as my server called it "free from the man"

We went to Tokyo Delve's in No. Ho. and basically it's a crazy sushi bar. The waiters are adorable and they perform for you and also make you get up and do silly dances. It was a great time with my favorite ladies.

So I had a pretty awesome past couple of days.

Friday was my parents' anniversary. My dad passed away almost 7 years ago, but my brother and I still like to celebrate with my mom. So my bro took my mom and I out to my parents' favorite Italian restaurant Buca di Beppo. Dinner just the 3 of us hasn't happened in a while and it was really nice, really fun, and made me smile when I thought about how much I love my family.

That night I went to my Vanessa's house and spent the night because the next day we were waking up at 4:30 IN THE MORNING (so intense..) because...wait for it...wait for it..

a new Forever 21 was opening in Culver City and they were giving out gift cards and discounts and we had to be one of the first 200 people in line to get it. *I know, I know...I'm sick*

But it ended up being really fun and crazy at times. We met some awesome people, including this chinese lady with a couple screws loose who taught us some basic chinese and an offbeat dance. A crazy lady who called security because she thought that we were cutting in line until the 30 people behind us vouched for us and started yelling "HATERRRRR!!" as she walked away..so great! OH! and I spent waaaaaaaay too much money...

Sunday a group of us went to the the L.A. County Fair in Pomona and it was totally filled with fun! I've been to carnivals but I've never really been to a fair...I'm still not sure of the difference. We went on rides that make you sick, ate food that makes you sick, and I now have a necklace tan because it was blistering hot yesterday. ALL WORTH IT!

My camera at the moment is broken and I'm too busy shopping and spending my money recklessly to actually go and fix it. However, I'm ridiculously depressed without it. I do have a camera on my phone BUT IT'S NOT THE SAAAAAAAAME!!!!! ::stomps feet::

I finished the twilight saga and I'm quite impressed. I fully let my tween side resurface. I haven't seen her since N'Sync days and it was kinda nice, kinda nice. I have to admit, I was completely enraptured with these books and I found myself diving into this sci-fi world of vampires and werewolves. The hype around it is still pretty intense but I do have to say with all honesty...

I had such a fun birthday this year...

wait...first things first. My birthday this year was on a Friday and i worked Thursday night till 2am...so it turned into my bday at work. My cousin Vanessa and roomie bff Laura came to surprise me at my work and it was pretty amazing. For whatever reason they themed my surprise MEXICAN! So they bombarded me in front of customers (so great!) and they threw a sombrero on my head, a shot glass around me neck (cuz mexicans drink i guess?..), a mustache on my face, and mexican colored balloons in one hand and a taco bell burrito in the other, and started flashing pictures...

OMG it was the funniest thing ever! I was sweating I was laughing so hard..

OK! now to Friday..

I'm born and raised in L.A. and one thing I've always wanted to do is go on a tour of Hollywood...weird? maybe. but tourists always look so odd and out of place and I LOVE it!!! So My mom, my 2 cousins Megan and Vanessa, and me dressed up like tourists, took a double decker around hollywood, went into the Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum (something I've never done) and it was the best day.

p.s. I had a WAAAAY touristy-er shirt picked out but vanessa gave me that shirt for my bday and I had to wear it :)

Saturday the 5th was my Uncle's 50th surprise party and it was a kick ass time! He used to be a child actor and the entertainment industry has always been close to his heart. We decided to make the party "oscar" themed and even gave him a Lifetime achievement award in the form of an OSCAR!! We are a family of entertainers and have been performing all of our lives. Every really big party that we have, we usually put on a show. THIS show was by far the best and most elaborate. Amazing. Also, anytime we can dress up, we do. On the invite we encouraged celebrity look-a-likes, but of course, as a family we are never the shy ones and always take it farther than others..

When my mom/aunts/uncles were younger they had a show called the "Kopy Cats". My Grandfather (who was an actor) created the show with all of his kids dressing up as celebrities from that time (Liza minelli, Elvis Presley, Sonny and Cher, etc.) and they actually went on tour. This number was taken from one of my uncle's favorite movies, Young Frankenstein. It's "Putting on the Ritz", performed by my other uncle and my cousin's 6'5" boyfriend...perfect.

It was such an amazing night.

We had other numbers that I don't have pics for right now. but a few years back all the girl cousins performed "Cell Block Tango" from Chicago and it was hot and awesome. So for this party we had all of our mom's perform it and it was so INCREDIBLE I have no words to explain how amazing they all were and how the STILL got it OWW!!
