Twizzle

I'm not quite sure why exactly I was putting off reading Twilight. I mean, I'm a huge Harry Potter fan so I'm not afraid of encyclopedia sized books, or sci-fi adventures, or even 10,000 screaming 11 year olds who have made this series their life. Ok, maybe if I saw a mob of anything coming at me, especially 11 yr old screaming chicks I would probably have the intention of running for my life but just end up passing out. Anyobsessed, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em I guess...

So yesterday I had to take G-ma to the doctor and I knew it was gonna be a good hour wait, so I glanced at my booked shelf and there it was...dusty and cobwebby (gross).....

***TWILIGHT***

so I picked it up "what the hell" and what do you know, I finished the entire thing in one day. I was actually pretty impressed with myself. I had things to do too, like get a job (check), rehearse (check), study the new menu (1/2 check...)

So now I'm on to the second in the series

***NEW MOON***

and I can totally see why everyone is freaking out about this thing, they're pretty damn good. Now I just need to know where I can find a 19th Century "good" vampire that's romantic and love's all of MY quirks! Oh, and if I do find him then I just need to make sure that I'm ok with all of his "quirks".

HA!

HAWAII NO KA OI!!!!

Let's play KETCHUP!!

...and we're back!! (gmail users)

So it's been like 2 months since I've been on this thing and I need a serious fix. I feel like a coke addict that's just had a nose job (bud dun chhhh)...but I'm back and have soooo much to say so clear your next hour and grab some jujubees while you catch up on my life HA!

~ok, so let's go back to June when I went to Tucson to move my cousin/sister/BFFF back to L.A. because we were both having serious melt downs for 6 months while she was gone for a semester. The plan was for her to be gone for 3 years but THAT was laughable. So she flew me down (up?) (over?) and we basically treated it like a Vegas trip minus the casino and Mexicans on street corners handing out hooker fliers. Here are some pics to demonstrate:

I also went to Sonic for the first time :)

So while we were busy doing all of ^ that ^ we forgot to pack. You know, the reason I was there in the first place...so we ended up packing up the Uhaul at 1:00am and had to wake up at 3:00am to drive 9 hours back to L.A. hence these:

CHEERS!!!!

~The weekend after Tucson I got invited to be a camp counsellor for junior youth at Bosch Baha'i school. and it was AMAZING!!! I never went to camp as a kid, let alone be a counsellor so I had NO idea what I was getting into. Bosch is up by Santa Cruz and it's completely surrounded by redwoods so basically it couldn't have been more gorgeous. I had four 11 year old chicas in my cabin that were mine 24/7 for 5 days and I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. They were so beautiful and hilarious and I can't wait to do it again. We did a scavenger hunt at night, a carnival, a talent show, and a bon fire. Not to mention the classes and all the day time activities. Getting to know these kids and fellow counsellors was one of the best times of my life. ALL the kids were fantastic so here's a BUNCH of pics that are all out of order:

p.s. These are only about 10% of what we took...

^^OH! and my ladies all chipped in to surprise me with this gorgeous necklace!!

~Hmmm let's see. OH!!! The Los Angeles LAKERS won the fippin CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!!! For those of you who know me know that I am a HUUUUUUUGE Lakers fan.

sidenote: I'm going through my twitter to help catch up my blog and came across the worst pick up line so far : "hey, so I'm not stalking you...but I thought about it.."me: umm...ok?

~So, in the midst all of that happiness the GREAT Michael Jackson passed away. I took this really hard and am still taking it hard. But I happen to live less then 10 minutes away from the Jackson family residence and was able to go there with my mom with some candles and flowers. We said some prayers, and we cried and I'm so happy/lucky I was able to do that. We went the day of his death so there were people, but the flowers and candles and posters literally tripled after just a couple days. So I have some pics from my phone of what it looked like after just a few hours :

~We wiped our tears and then started crying tears of joy because my BFF had her second baby!!! She had a baby girl and named her McKenna:

so flippin gorgeous.

Sidenote: I'm also a ridiculous Harry Potter fan. Like, stand in line for hours to see the midnight showing with a lightning bolt on my forehead fan. Saw HP6...so disappointed...

~So I used to live in Hawaii and I have family still there so I consider Maui like my second home. There's not a whole lot to do there but outdoorsy stuff, i.e. jumping off cliffs into fresh water, salt water, pools, etc. So I have made a habit out of jumping off whatever I can find, and my friend found this place in Malibu Creek where there are different heights you can jump off of into fresh water. So I jumped (wink) at the chance to go. So we go and it's beautiful and I find the highest point to jump off of and...

(well, first I checked the water to see how deep it is and if there were any rocks and it was all good)

....I jumped into the wrong spot and smacked my tailbone on a rock and couldn't walk for days. It...was....awful!!!! I've never ever hurt myself jumping off of anything and it was only about 35 ft. but man....life sucked for a couple weeks.

^^found this on google, kinda doesn't do it justice but whatev...

~In the summertime the Hollywood Forever Cemetery does movie nights on Saturdays. It's kinda creepy but mostly awesome. You don't sit on the actual graves, there is a spot where it's just grass and they play an old movie on the big white building. So you can bring food and drinks and picnic while watching a fabulous flick. The night I went it was Bride of Frankenstein.

sidenote: My camera at the moment is broken so a lot of these pics are from my phone...get over it.

~My mom is the Chair of the board of directors for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, the Los Angeles chapter....woooo. She does many other things as well but with that she will go and speak at different places about suicide prevention from a widow's perspective. Sometimes she'll bring me along when a child's perspective is needed (I lost my dad when I was 16 to suicide). I've never really done any public speaking, especially about my dad, I mean, I'll talk about him to whoever but I've never done it in front of a huge crowd. So she brought me to USC to speak in front of 30 future social workers. I had NO clue that I would have an actual time slot. I thought if anything they would ask questions and I would answer, until the professor was like "ok, Veronica (my mom) let's hear from Angelique..." me: (SWEATING) huh?...oh...ok...I mean (WALKING TO MY DEATH)....let's see....ok..." After the first 4 seconds of blank staring at them I got it together and ended up ROCKING!!!! I walked out of there with such a high, it was awesome. Next, my mom was speaking at a high school so she obviously wanted me to come. This time I knew I would be speaking, I still didn't prepare anything but I had an idea of what I was gonna say. These kids man...UGH....drove me banana sandwich. They were around 15 and couldn't have been more disrespectful. So I finally stood up and let them have it. I didn't yell at them but I made it VERY clear how serious it was that we were there and I gave them my own 16 year old statistics and they sat up a little straighter (smiles). So that ended up being awesome too!

~My friend's bf was staying at this gorgeous hotel in West L.A. called the Mondrian. It's one of those places that doesn't even have the name of the hotel on the front of the building (uber boushy). She needed my help super early in the morning so I spent the night there too and we had sooo much fun, and found this:

Mirror, mirror on the wall....

This is the T.V.!!

It's a mirror until you turn it on and it becomes a t.v. MAGIC!!

The job they needed my help with was to return some rent-a-cars....with cash. So before we had to give it up we clearly needed a photoshoot

Even though we checked out, we weren't done playing rich so we went back and chilled by the gorgeous pool for the day..

******************ALMOST DONE************************

~B and B had one of their famous get togethers and we just plain hung out and played wii American Idol :) :) :) :)

I <3> my bro..

~The next day was 6 MAN! It's this huuuuuuuge beach party/volleyball competition/halloween thing in Manhattan Beach and we went. There were thousands there and it was ridiculous.

I'm not sure what's up with the beer cameos either...

^^Went to the beach with an old friend. She took me to the Venice canals and I never knew they existed!! I guess this is why they named Venice after Venice :) ^^

*************************THE END!******************

Woooooo ok....so that pretty much sums up life the past couple months. Thanks for tuning in and I promise to keep up my blog this time.
