TAG, you're it!!

So the sweet Novelista Barista tagged me in her post. She's the SHITake mushroom, so go check her out!!

Rules:

1. Mention the person who tagged you. (check)
2. List 6 unimportant things that make you happy

{1} painted nails. Tonight I took a bubble bath (which I thought about making one of the unimportant things because it made me happy, but decided they are WAY important) and my hot orange painted, cute little toes popped out of the water. Made me smile..

{2} giving wet willies. Nobody...NOBODY likes getting wet willies. In fact, I loathe the feeling. HOWEVER, there's just something about sticking my wet/sticky finger in someone's ear and watching their entire body spasm out of control with grossed-outness. Similar to the "spider dance". (ugh...I hate spiders)

{3} warm sand. mmmm HOT even.

{4} accents. Even here in the good ol' US of A we have a few. I live in l.a. so we pretty much only have the "valley" accent, which is nothing to be desired, and yes people really do talk like Cher from Clueless. But we also have the southern states and the east coast. But don't get me started on Europe...aye ya aye

{5} kisses on the hand. I mean, c'mon...what girl doesn't love that. This goes back to every Disney movie, every love story ever told, every "picture perfect" moment a girl imagines

{6} awkward moments. They're just so awkward you gotta smile. In fact, I usually start cracking up which makes the situation 10 times more awkward. So great..

3. Tag 6 blogs, state the rules, & notify them with a teeny comment on their blog.

there now...wasn't that grand?

night..

A life goal

So I just started taking pole dancing classes (and by "just started" I mean one time) for some extra exercise (and by "extra exercise" I mean only exercise) because I'm quickly turning into a fatty mcfatty. Surprisingly enough, I'm not too shabby at it either. I actually think I may have found my calling. Esthetician by day, extreme bungee/pole monkey/human mutant by night.I was actually thinking of buying a pole, but once the price goes from $500 to $20 I'll talk 'em down. Anystripper, I came across this video and she's basically my hero.. (sigh)

ok, first...pick your jaw up off of the floor and come back...TELL ME THAT'S NOT INCREDIBLE!!!
I mean, the athleticism that's involved in this is so ridiculously beyond me, I can't even fathom
being able to do that. *Best part* is it's not slutty or raunchy..it's sexy and powerful and THAT"S
why, boys and girls, I'm a closet stripper hahaha ;)

real quick

this picture made me laugh so I thought I'd post a quickie :0)

http://survivorsofsuicide.ning.com

So, basically I created this site on a whim. I am a member of 20something bloggers and saw in very fine print that I could create a social network of my own. The first thing I thought of was "survivors of suicide." I lost my dad when I was 16 to suicide and it has changed my life in so many ways. I am on 3 committees for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), the Los Angeles chapter, including the upcoming walk this October in Santa Monica, CA.

what I want..

I want everyone who comes to this site to feel welcome, safe, and not alone. "Every 16 minutes someone in the U.S. dies by suicide. Every 17 minutes someone is left to make sense of it." Here, we can share our stories or pictures, meet people with similar stories, and begin the long journey to healing.

So welcome, even though I know it's sort of like a "club" no one ever wants to be apart of. Just know that here you will always find a virtual hug and a smile...

Ah, childhood (sigh)..

You know you're a 90's kid if...

You've ever ended a sentence with the word "PSYCHE!"

You can sing the rap to "The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air"

You've worn skorts and felt stylish.

You've owned New Kids On the Block merchandise and rocked it.

You yearned to be part of the Baby-Sitters club.

You use to love playing with your My Little Pet Shop.

You know that "WOAH" comes from Joey from "Blossom" and that "How Rude!" comes from Stephanie from "Full House."

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You wore a ponytail on the side of your head and had fluffed bangs.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class
at school.

You wanted to change your name to "JEM" in kindergarten.

You remember reading "Goosebumps."

You know the profound meaning of "Wax on, wax off."

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.

You remember the craze then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.

You still get the urge to say "NOT" after every sentence...
Not...

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green ranger,
were meant to be together.

You remember "I've fallen and I can't get up"

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

You ever got injured on a Slip' n' Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down.

"Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack..."

Boom boxes vs. cd players.

You knew what it meant to say "Care Bear Stare."

You remember Alf, the little brown alien from Melmac

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on
"Saved By The Bell."

You played and or collected "Pogs."

You had at least one GigaPet or NanoBaby and brought it everywhere.

All your school supplies were "Lisa Frank" brand.

You used to wear those stick on earrings, not only on your ears, but at
the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You've gotten creeped out by "Are You Afraid of the Dark?"

You thought it would be so cool to be Alex Mack.

You know the Macarena by heart.

Talk to the hand ... enough said

You thought Brain (from pinky and the brain) would finally take over the world.

You remember when Michael Jackson was not so creepy but really cool!

You owned a bag of marbles!

Computer's hadn't taken over your life

Neon was cool

You can remember the Mc Pizza and when KFC had spicy wings.

You owned every single teenage mutant Ninga Turtle accessory.

The phrase "I am the terror that flaps in the night..." Still get you a little excited!

Yikes pencils and erasers were the shit

You always said, "Then why don't you marry it!"

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.

You remember when razor scooters were cool.

When we were younger:

Before the MySpace frenzy.

Before the Internet & text messaging.

Before Sidekicks & iPods.

Before PlayStation2 or X-BOX.

Back when you put off the 5 hours of homework you had every night to play outside with your friends.

WHEN LIGHT UP SNEAKERS WERE COOL

When you rented VHS tapes, not DVDs.

When gas was $0.95 a gallon & Caller ID was a new thing.

When we recorded stuff on VCRs

When we called the radio station to request songs to hear off our walkmans.

When 2Pac and Biggie where alive.

When the Chicago Bulls were the best team ever.

Way back.

Tag.

Hide-n-Go Seek at dusk.

Red Light, Green Light.

Heads Up 7 Up.

Playing Kickball & Dodgeball until your porch light came on.

Hopskotch.

Slip-n-Slides.

Skip-It

Tree Houses.

Hula Hoops.

Reading R.L. Stine's Goose Bumps and Fear Street

Running through the sprinklers.

That "Little Mermaid"

Crying when Mufasa died in the Lion King. Every time you watched it.

Happy Meals where you chose a Barbie or a Hot Wheels car.

Getting the privilege to sit in the front seat of the car.

Drinking Sqeeze It "Squeeze The Fun Out Of It"

CAPRI SUN

Watching Saturday Morning Cartoons in your PJ's still wrapped up in your TMNT, Power Rangers, Barbie, Fairy Princess comforter.

Kool-Aid was the drink of choice.

Wearing your new shoes on the first day of school.

Class field trips.

POGS

When Christmas was the most exciting time of year.

When $5 seemed like a million

When you begged to go to McDonalds for dinner everyday.

When Toys R Us overuled the mall.

Go back to the time when:

Decisions were made by going 'eeny-meeny-miney-moe'.

Mistakes were corrected by simply exclaiming 'do over!'

Money issues were handled by whoever was banker in 'Monopoly'.

It wasn't odd to have two or three 'best' friends.

Being old referred to anyone over 20.

A chance to skate as a couple at the local roller rink was like winning the lottery.

Scrapes & bruises were kissed & made better.

It was a big deal to finally be tall enought to ride the 'big people' rides at the fair.

When playing Nintendo was the hardest thing ever.

Before we realized all this would eventually disappear

WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT YOU'D MISS THE 90'S SO MUCH!!!!

I wish I saw this in person!!

More than 200 dancers surprised commuters in this Belgium train station. They pulled off this rendition of
"Do Re Mi" from Sound of Music with only 2 rehearsals!!

Only in my dreams..

I dream of one day being able to say those 3 fateful words to someone and mean it wholeheartedly...

I dream of one day living underwater. There's something so peaceful and homey about being submerged in H2O. I mean we are sorta made of the stuff...

I dream of one day being a really awesome painter. One of my favorite things to do is finger paint. But since I'm not an "artist", I find it hard to get my point across, whatever that may be...

I dream of one day being able to travel into space. Similar to my feelings about being underwater, I love the thought of being weightless and being in an environment so completely opposite than what I'm used to. I mean, even the colors are different out there...

I dream of one day having a family of my own. The thought of it scares the shit out of me, but the thought of it also makes me excited and giddy...

I dream of one day living on a secret island that no one but my close family and friends knows about. I mean, who cares if you're "lost" if you're in paradise with the people you love...

I dream of one day fulfilling my dreams of being a dancer. I miss it. I miss it with everything in me...

I dream of one day being successful. Whatever or wherever life takes me I hope to succeed at it. Mainly because I feel I am epically failing at life at the moment...

I dream of one day traveling the world. I also plan on taking my mother with me. Next up, Israel & Turkey next May, as in next year....

I dream of one day playing the piano. I love all instruments but there is something about the piano that is close to my heart. It just gets me..

I dream of one day being able to speak Italian fluently. I'm half Mexican, half Italian and I would love to speak both languages, but I plan on living in Italy one day. I took 2 years of it in college, but no one speaks Italian in L.A. so I lost it all...

I dream of one day having a library as big as the the one in Beauty and the Beast. This is one of my ultimate dreams and when I buy a house I will, if need be, forsake my bedroom for a library...

Alas, only in my dreams...

P.S.

In search for my "dreams" pictures, I found these incredible photos:

A poem...from me to you

Life...

Yes I'm athletic, but I don't like to play games. I don't run around playing football with someone's feelings, I didn't throw my heart at you so you can catch it and play a little baseball with it. I don't say "tag, you're it", cuz when I was "it" I let you know it.  And you froze like a game of freeze tag, and when I touched you...

...nothing happened. I melted into your charm, and you played skip-it into my heart, and I hopscotched around the idea that we would ever be apart. And you and I...we did this, over and over. Going round and round the merry-go-round until there was an interference...and someone else was on your playground. You left me in the quicksand box sinking farther and farther until all I could see were memories. Not being strong enough to pull myself out, I just cried. I cried...and I cried until my tears hardened the sand and I could finally stand. I touched all the bases and ran home. I ran all the way home to my mom and I cried. But not even her kisses could make it all better.

All it took was a crooked smile to move you straight back into my life and we started playing. We played hide and seek, but you were the only one hiding and I was the only one seeking and when I found you...you didn't want to be found. You wanted to keep playing...so we played. We played the game Sorry until my ears bled and my heart ached. Until I realized that I was just a pawn that you had in check. I wasn't a queen to anyone's king, I was a jester that entertained your ego.

So I said "shoots" and climbed the highest ladder to try and find my dignity and ask God "why...why did he do this to me?"

And I knew it was time to move on, but like a hula hoop I was wrapped around you. Emotionally hugging every inch of you even if you didn't want me to. See, our relationship was like a game of charades. Like living in a movie, a love scene, looking for 3 words not knowing this was a silent film with no subtitles to help me.

And we rang around the rosies with our pockets FULL of posies. His ashes, my ashes. We all fall, we both fall, but I was the only one to fall. I skinned my knee and I'd do it again because I knew with you happiness was just around the river bend. And some days it was a green light, most it was a red light, but it really didn't matter it was all just a stop light. I let you tug-a-rope with my insides cuz when you'd "red rover, red rover" and call me right over, I would run to you hoping that today...you didn't wanna play. I even triple dog dared you to just hold my hand skipping past the birds and the bees, but I was so naive. Too young to know that you liked to play these games, that you were the inventor of these games.

well, I don't play monopoly in this game of life, so "sorry" trix are for kids and I'm grown, unashamed, with no one to blame. Yes, I'm athletic but I don't play those games.

So today, after 3 years, I finally finished watching Amelie. I walked in on it at a friends' house about 3 years ago (a total guess) and I was going somewhere and had to leave. Well, I just signed up for Netflix and I'm LOVING it and this gem of a movie arrived at my doorstep this morning. I, the movie-buff, of course loved it and all its quirks. Afterwards, I was/am feeling kinda romantic, hence the post. Here's however many ways to say i love you. I deleted some and one of my favs is Xosa...it's a clicking language. The "X" is the click :)

fashion-gasm!

So this morning I woke up kinda early and was extremely annoyed that I couldn't go back to sleep, so I turned on the tele and started catching up on some music videos. Britney Spears and her boobs came on with her new single "If you seek Amy" which we all know by now really means "F U C K me"....blah blah blah but whatever Britney and her vagina are not the topic of this blog. However, these Christian Louboutin pumps are:------>

I know right?!?! Ok, so now you get why I sat straight up when I saw a glimpse of these beauties through my half shut eyes<--- (yes, and the glass is half empty too) Now, in the past, Brit Brit has not really been known as anyone's fashion Guru, but more like fashion poo poo (OH! one for me..), but these shoes..O M G! Now I know what the song is about... If You Seek Amy (in these shoes)!

anyway..

Clap for the new app

So I just downloaded this app on my phone called Blogpress and it's supposed to let me blog from ANYWHERE using my phone. How stoked are you?! So this is me testing the text/pic portion of it.

I just walked into the guest room and this is what I saw..

But why is it up in the air?

-- Post From My iPhone

Ewwwwww!

So, I really could have used this in elementary or with room mates. How amazing are these?!?! Found these Anti-theft Lunch Bags on Under Lock and Key's site and had to re-post. These are lunch bags that have green splotches printed on both sides to make your UNspoiled sandwich look like it's been sitting outside in the Indian sun for 3 days.

God, why doesn't my brain think of things like this!..
